The Pursuit of History Limited Edition WPA-Era Prints
You may remember The Pursuit of History from America’s Summer Roadtrip in 2020! This non-profit organization engages Americans in an ongoing conversation about history and tells the story of our most treasured sites, deepening our connection with the stories of the past.
This year, The Pursuit of History is pleased to feature the perfect holiday gift for history and art enthusiasts. The organization has revived the retro styling originated by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) to revisit two pivotal sites, Fort Ticonderoga and the Gettysburg Civil War Battlefield, and is making these iconic reproductions available to the public for the first time.
Two limited-edition prints designed by illustrator Larry Stuart, who focuses on history and rural America, are available for this holiday season. The prints are of Fort Ticonderoga, the 18th-century fort built by the French at a narrows near the south end of Lake Champlain, in northern New York and the Gettysburg Civil War Battlefield in Pennsylvania. The 16”x 24” prints are available framed and unframed and start at just $124.95. Proceeds benefit The Pursuit of History and the respective website. The images are also available as small posters, magnets, note cards, and stickers. Click here or on the poster below for more info!
