The cliffs hold me upright.
Like crutches,
I hold them back.
They support my weight,
my wait…
as I fumble for solid footing.
I’m learning how to walk again,
through
this
new
wilderness.
Where my words, my thoughts,
are as settled as the leaves in the summer wind.
Sails.
Green and tethered,
Riding that last warm breeze
